What makes you a horse person

What makes you a horse person

You ever walk into the barn with all the motivation in the world?
You’ve got your boots on, coffee in hand, maybe even a playlist going fully convinced today’s the day you’ll ride, clean tack, get organized, maybe even have your life together for five minutes.
Then you look at your horse.
And your horse looks at you.
It’s a silent exchange that basically says, “Absolutely not today.”
You both stand there, exhausted by life and each other. One of you didn’t sleep enough, one of you rolled in mud for fun, and neither of you wants to do cardio.
So instead of a productive ride, you brush out a half hearted mane, maybe reorganize the same three brushes you’ve owned since 2009, and pretend this counts as progress.
But then, somewhere between the sound of munching hay and the smell of dirt and leather, you realize this is the therapy.
The barn is where everything slows down just enough to make sense again. It’s where you’re allowed to just be.
No one’s judging your messy bun, your life choices, or your chaotic brain just you and a thousand pound creature who couldn’t care less about any of it.
You came out to ride, sure… but sometimes, showing up is enough.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not really about training or goals it’s about finding a moment of peace in a world that doesn’t stop spinning.
And if your horse happens to cancel on you again tomorrow… you’ll still show up anyway.
That’s what makes you a horse person.
